The Shake-speare Project

The Maleny Players next production will be ‘The Shake-speare Project’ written and directed by Andrew Robjohns. 

As 2023 is the 400yr anniversary of the printing of the First Folio of Shakespeare’s Plays – Comedies, Histories and Tragedies, the Shakespeare Project has been written to celebrate this significant work on this occasion.  It also explores the idea of whether it is;  

‘A Conspiracy or Truth!  Did Shakespeare write the works that are attributed to him?’

The play follows the struggle of a young woman completing her master’s thesis on the production of the First Folio.  We also witness insights that she is given into revelatory scenes that show not only who wanted the plays produced, but also who did not.
