Maleny Players celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2017. Over the years they have performed under a number of different banners, playing in a number of different venues, before settling at our home in the Playhouse situated on the Maleny Showgrounds. The Playhouse started life as a school building, donated by the Sunshine Coast Council, before being put onto the showground site. The blackboard is still there at the back of the stage. Since then it has grown in stages until we have a fully air conditioned 60 seat theatre with a foyer and bar, green room and large outside deck. Maleny Players have become well known for their plays and as a community theatre, particularly their Christmas pantomime with large casts involving  local children involved in our Youth Theatre. Our Youth Theatre group meets regularly during school term.
