COMPOST CAPERS
COMPOST CAPERS OUR CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME
Rehearsals are already in full swing for our Christmas Pantomime 2026
We had an incredible turn out for auditions and are very excited to welcome both new and old members for a fun friendly production. We are a large cast of all ages, and are thrilled to have some very enthusiastic young performers eager to show our Maleny audiences their performance skills on stage.
Written and directed by Kim Zwalf and Stewart Luke, the show is set in the fictional town of Melony which is located within the region of the Dunny Coast City Council. Fox, an unscrupulous member of the council, has turned Melony’s school oval into a dust bowl and together with the Mayor, concocts a plan to concrete it over and turn it into a carpark. This she says will solve the town’s traffic and parking problems, but the school community disagree arguing that the oval must be saved and that public transport is the answer to Melony’s traffic problems. When the 3 tuckshop ladies (played by traditional pantomime dames) use compost and TLC to restore the school garden, they realise the same principles could work on the oval. The mayor is eventually convinced to change her wicked ways and promises to help save the school oval. She also donates a fleet of dunny coast transporters for Melony’s public transport use, along with the compost from her very own dunny transporter thunderbox, to help fuel them. YaY the oval and the traffic problem is thus solved.
Our performance dates are 4, 5, 6, 12 & 13 December
