The 2024 production program at The Playhouse in Maleny Showgrounds….
will open with comedic entertainment from an enthusiastic band of member actors and writers clustering under the title Club 88.
Q What is Club 88?
A group of Maleny Players members exploring Life at all ages through comedy and drama; mostly through storytelling – performances based in true stories from our own experience.
Q Why is it called Club 88?
A Because we come from a range of age groups – all under the age of 88. And because it’s an interesting number. And because there are 88 keys on a piano….
Q What does Club 88 do?
A Over more than 12 months, several members of Maleny Players have been meeting regularly to write workshop ideas and explore how they can be performed. Writers, actors, musicians and singers have developed a sheaf of skits, monologues and short plays about the stages of ages firth to…88; knitted together into a weekend of revue-style performances for two matinees in February 2024.
