YOUTH AND ADULT ACTING CLASSES
Maleny Players run kids-youth and also adult acting classes for anyone over 17 years old. The weekly classes run in school term time.
The classes will be taught by Darren Hayden trained at NIDA and Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in London (BA Hons Acting).
We are kicking off the this terms acting classes again which are as follows:-
Start date: Tuesday 23 January 2024
Kids class: 4.45pm – 6.00pm
Adults: 6.00pm -8.00pm
Where: Maleny Players – Maleny Showgrounds ( first building on your right as you drive in)
Depending on the number and ages of the children we may decide to run another class for the tweens – see how we go.
The adult classes last year did lots around script analysis, given circumstances, actions/objectives and bringing real organic truth to our performances.
Of course, these are the building blocks of an effective acting technique – but this term we really want to concentrate on imagination and spontaneity in our acting.
This will mean lots of impro and lots of fun – developing skits and working these into a performance piece.
We will decide as a group what we want that to look like when we present it/them at the end of the term accompanied by heaps of food (and drink!)
We will send out invoices a few weeks into term – so don’t worry about that.
