A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Settle into your favourite beach chair with a cooling drink as Bawdy Codpiece Theatre Company brings you an outdoor Shakespeare play for you to enjoy as the sun sets on a Queensland Summer day. 

As part of a short hinterland tour Bawdy Codpiece Theatre Company, the first touring Shakespeare company based on the Sunshine Coast proudly presents, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’ 

With an ensemble of 12 actors directed by Catherine O’Neill the story unfolds within a magical forest amongst fairies and foolery. Four lovers, a quarrelsome Fairy King and Queen, a band of poor workmen and a mischievous sprite all combine to show us why  today this is still Shakespeare’s most popular comedy play. 

Bring your favourite beach chair or picnic blanket and cushions and relax in the grounds outside The Playhouse to watch the fun unfold. 

Should a tempest threaten, the play will be shown inside.
